Trump on Hip Hop

What’s Up, Good Morning, How You Doing? My name is Raul aka The Renegade bringing you another hot topic that involves hip hop as well as politics. So, as of recently Donald Trump mocked hip-hop music as he once again criticized the performance Jay Z and Beyonce delivered at a rally for Hillary Clinton, asking whether it was "talking or singing.” The language is so bad and as they were singing singing right? Was it talking or singing? Right? But the language was so bad, Trump said Monday during his first of five rallies the day before Election Day. Trump's apparent criticism of rap and hip-hop comes in spite of the GOP nominee's repeated attempts to appeal to African-American voters during the final months of his campaign. It also comes as Clinton has ramped up get out the vote efforts in recent days by targeting young and African-American voters in particular. Still, Trump insisted that African-American voters are turning out in droves for him, an assessment contradicted by polls that show Trump with low single-digit support among black voters. And Trump also sought to once again undercut Clinton's support among the demographic by raising the former first lady's use of the term "super predators" to describe criminals in the inner city.

African-Americans are turning out and when they do a lot of them are voting for Trump," he said. "She's got not a lot of inspiration. She used the term called 'super predator' to define black youth. 'Super predator.” Trump's criticism of hip-hop follows his repeated and awkward appeals to African-Americans that many have criticized as tone deaf and offensive as he has described the lives of African Americans in starkly bleak and broad-brushed terms. "African-Americans are living in hell and are living -- in, in the inner cities, I mean, they're living in hell. You walk to the store for a loaf of bread, you get shot," Trump said during a rally in Sanford, Florida, last month, repeating a line he has frequently used to describe crime rates in black communities. Trump has also described inner cities as worse than war zones and equated the lives of minorities living in inner cities with members of those communities at large, even though a majority of African-Americans do not live in poverty.

Hip Hop Awards

Good Afternoon, What's Up, How You Doing? my name is Raul aka The Renegade and I'm back with another social topic in music. As some of you might know that this upcoming Tuesday the Hip Hop Awards will be air on BET and from recent speculation this is going to be a epic one this year. Now, me personally I have been disappointed in the recent Hip Hop Award shows especially the cyphers. The last good cypher that I really saw and thought was the dopest ones was the Kendrick Lamar and TDE cypher and the Eminem and Salughterhouse cypher. Me being a big fan of lyrics I may be being a bit bias on selecting them two because other may think otherwise. My thing is being that I'm seeing so much advertisements with DJ Khaled saying this is going to be a good year for the cyphers and hyping it up I'm hoping to expect something good at least if not great.

What I am expecting from this years show is excitement and more surprises. They have been coming out with different things that have us as fans excited and happy, but its not as special like it used to be back in the early 2000s. Back in the day we had some of the craziest collaborations and performances from old school artist and artist of the new generation that we been wanting to see. Time To Play The Game

Good Morning, How You Doing, What's Up? my name is Raul aka The Renegade coming back with another trending topic in the industry. Now, as of lately it has been trending that The Game and Meek Mill are now beefing. Wow, talking about catch heat from every angle of the rap game if you're Meek. We all knew about the Drake and Meek Mill beef that occurred sometime last year and is still kind of coming to the scene here and there. But this time its a recent collaborator of Drake that has his own personal issues bottled up with Meek and he now feels need to address it.

It was random when this beef started because we never seen this happening. Than again, you never know who would beef with who when it comes to the music industry. According to a interview The Game had with Ebro from Hot 97 he said that things transpired with Sean Kingston at a venue where he was robbed and that The Game was the one who set him up. Apparently Meek, The Game, and Sean Kingston were at the same club in LA and The Game took it upon himself to send a bottle to Meek letting him know that it was stuff going down in LA and he wanted him to be safe. The Game said he didn't send anything to Sean Kingston because he is a R&B singer and he didn't need to. So when the robbing of Sean Kingston went down it was said by an exchange of phone tag that The Game set up Sean Kingston in LA. The beef comes into play when The Game called Meek a rat due to the fact he told him some intel about what was going on in LA and he took it and flipped it when he talked to the police making it seem like he was the one causing the issues. Since that day The Game has been on a rampage of ending Meek Mills career. Some people say he just starting random beefs to keep his name relevant and to promote his album. I personally feel that The Game is just making it clear that he still got it lyrically as an emcee and he just want to prove it by going after Meek which is coincidental because Meek has become the target for a lot of artist lately. Making Money Off The Goat

Good Morning, What's Up, and How You Doing people, my name is Raul aka The Renegade with another Hip-Hop topic. As many of you know today marks the 20th anniversary since the death of Tupac. Most of us are remembering Pac for his dope music by playing his old tracks, watching the movies he been apart of and just taking a moment to appreciate him as he was. On the otherhand, some people feel the need to make a quick buck of the man with selling his songs that has never been released. Now, artist do things like this all the time when they take a old verse from a legend that is now passed and put them on a song to make a great hit and get some cash in between. Most of the it is by permission from the estate of the rapper as well as his family and friends. This time its not the case.

According to allhiphop.com Tupac Shakur’s estate reportedly plans to block the sale of his handwritten lyrics to song Catchin’ Feelins. The handwritten lyric sheet for Catchin’ Feelins, appeared on 2002 posthumous album Better Dayz. The framed A4-sized lined piece of paper features Tupac’s untidy scrawled lyrics in blue ink complete with scribbles and corrections. Gary Zimet from Moments in Time told TMZ.com he received the lyrics from somebody who used to work at the studio where Tupac recorded the track in 1996. However, managers of the Tupac Shakur estate claims that while managers and employees sold off tons of his personal property, it is the rightful owner of all his lyrics and written creations, none of which the rapper ever sold. The estate said it is “aggressively pursuing” those who purposely try to exploit his memory. Zimit thinks the estate has no claim, and says it’s full steam ahead for the sale. The lyrics are scheduled to be sold for at least $38,500. Now I'm all for hearing real music from the OG's, but taking his lyrics, the only thing that the rapper had as his own property and try to market off it is not cool to me. Especially since a biopic about him is about to drop soon and his mom just passed recently,  so really to have nobody to step in to say if its okay or not to back up the estate is kind of disrespecting the legend more so than honoring him. Make money of movies and documentaries about him not his passion. What do you guys think?

Good Afternoon, How You Doing, What's Up. My name is Raul aka The Renegade bringing you more Hip Hop weekly news. Today I'm going to be discussing the talented Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino with his successful pilot of his show "Atlanta." Childish said that this show is suppose to make individuals that are not black understand how it feels to be a black man in America and the progression of a manager/producer. I personally recommend people to watch this TV show not even being bias because I like Childish Gambino as a rapper and person, but simply because it is really a good TV and the fact that it demonstrate us as Black people in a way that most people wouldn't understand is something we needed on TV.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The show’s called Atlanta, yeah, but right away, it becomes clear: This isn’t necessarily Atlanta; this is Earn’s Atlanta. And Earn loves music at least enough to help out his cousin, Alfred (The Book of Mormon alum Brian Tyree Henry), a rapper whose track “Paper Boi” begins gaining steam early on in the FX drama-comedy. (The possibility of getting some paper of his own is solid motivation, too.) That original song was penned by Glover and his brother Stephen, but most of the series’ varied, Southern-inspired soundtrack is made up of already-released tracks that the Georgia-raised Glover hopes together will create a picture of the city he knows.
“We wanted it to feel like what it felt like when we were on the street in Atlanta. No matter where you go, there’s a constant barrage of music coming from cars and from shops,” Glover tells EW. “It was important to me that it represented a vibe of Atlanta that was true, something you couldn’t get from everywhere.” I agree with everything that has been said and I cannot wait to see more of this show in depth. Damnn Breezy....Back at it again

Good Afternoon, What's Up, How You Doing people my name is Raul aka The Renegade coming back to you with another social media topic in the music world. Recently Virginia native Chris Brown is back in the headlines with news in a bad way. Chris was sent to prison due to a issue where he threatened a woman at his house with gun. I know what you thinking how can Chris possibly get in anymore bad situations then he already has. Its no denying that this man Chris has been in more issues than you could think of from domestic violent issues with Rihanna to baby mama drama over his daughter Royalty. The only thing about this issue is that it is so many accusations and weird twists and turns going on in this story.

According to starcasm the woman, Curan, that Chris apparently cursed out said that she was admiring his jewelry that he had displayed in his home and then started to get irritated with the girl and her friends and started to scream names at them and told them to get the F out, I'm sick of you girls and began to threaten them with a gun. Now, my thing is why call the police on a person when you are in their house obviously making them feel a bit uncomfortable. Another thing, why did it need to be S.W.A.T. and so many police officers surrounding his house when he did not want to come out his house because the police failed to comply with a search warrant that is required to have when you have the intentions to search a person's home. It is a lot of gaps in this story because they made him pay 250,000 for bail because he had a stand off at his home because police officers did not have a warrant present to search his home. We currently already have a lot of issues with police and African Americans so this situation is adding to more issues directed towards that situation. What do you guys think? Do yall feel that the police should have surrounded his home the way they did?

Frank Ocean's Wave

Good Afternoon, Hello, and What's Up everybody this is Raul Rodriguez aka The Renegade back with another musical topic and one that we all can be happy about. Most recently Frank Ocean..yes i said Frank Ocean has risen from the cave where he was creating master plans and dope projects for us to enjoy for a while. A good beginning of fall and end of summer present for us if might say. He just dropped his new album "Blonde" that a lot of people been dying for along with a magazine called "Boys Don't Cry" and a visual of his album Blonde. Talk about major moves from the comeback kid. From what I been seeing and hearing this album is definitely one to have on repeat and one of the biggest albums that is sure to break records on the top 200 billboards. I have not gotten a chance to listen to it but i definitely will be tuning in very soon to see how dope this album is.

According to Victoria Hernandez of Hip Hop dx this album was actually a independently released album on behalf of Frank himself. From the Hip Hop dx source it is said that "The singer has had a rocky relationship with Def Jam in the past as he was originally signed as a songwriter. He took to Twitter to blast the label in 2011 after he released his Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape, saying “i. did. this. not ISLAND DEF JAM. that’s why you see no label logo on the artwork that I DID. guess its my fault for trusting my dumb*** lawyer and signing my career over to a failing company. f**k Def Jam & any company that goes the length of signing a kid with dreams & talent w/ no intention of following through. f**k em. now back to my day. I want some oatmeal and toast. brunch swag.” Pretty strong words from the "Thinking about you" singer, nonetheless, understandable reasoning on why he did what he did and aid what he said. Introduction to Music N3rd

Good Afternoon, How you doing? and What's Up? this is the introduction of my blog. Every week I will be discussing different aspects or important situations that is happening in the music industry. I will be sharing my opinions on new songs, mixtapes, albums, artist, fashion and what I think has changed about today's music in comparison to the older generation of music. Also, I will be sharing the ins and outs of what I do musically and the production stand point of how I make music and what goes into constructing a good quality song(s). Lastly, in my blogs I will be talking about the positive as well as the negative things that's happening in the industry with a couple jokes throw in to lighten the tone, no shade, just jokes. A few puns here and there. or majority of the time.

First Thing I want to discuss in today's blog with the Nerd of Music is the highlight of social media right now when Drake brought none other than Eminem on stage to perform "Forever" at the summer sixteen tour in Detroit. The city of the hometown hero was extremely excited and will never forget that moment. It basically was another great step into a new milestone for Drake not only putting rumors rest by bringing the GOAT on stage with him, but by paying homage to Em and declaring him as "The greatest rapper to ever touch a microphone." Everybody been speculating and coming up with random rumors about Em making a diss song directed to Drake since he has been currently beefing with Eminem's affiliated camp member of Slaughterhouse Joe Budden. I for one knew that this beef was never going to occur because though Eminem is known for notoriously killing individuals on the microphone whenever he felt like it. The only way you can get Em to step back in the booth and cook up something vicious is that he has to have an issue with you, hating being compared to you, or your name just happened to rhyme in the wordplay that he was creating. I feel that Joe Budden is a grown man that started his own beef and as long as Eminem's name is not thrown in the mix then the Rap God will not be seeking to end careers, it's that simple.
